2012 Programs and Activity Calendar

Following a successful 2011 program schedule CISV-Montreal proudly presents its 2012 program schedule listed below. Families with children in the respective age groups are encouraged to discuss the programme and its implication for the child and family. Our website can be consulted for a description of the programme and further information can be obtained through contacting the Montreal chapter through its e-mail address indicated on its website. In addition, it is important note that a mandatory mini-camp is scheduled for early February and another for late May 2012.

Ginger Bread House

The CISV Montreal Christmas Spirit On December 18th 2011 twenty-five friends and members of CISV Montreal gathered for an intimate fundraiser that celebrated the Christmas spirit through designing and making a variety of crafts including snowflakes and Christmas ornaments. The highlight included the decoration of several ginger bread houses that were later raffled off three lucky winners. Congratulations Montreal and the JB’s who helped organise the event!

NBM 2011 & programs 2012

NBM 2011 and 2012 Programmes

CISV Montreal hosted its first national board meeting (NBM) on November 10, 11, 12, and 13th 2011. Chapter chairs, JB’s, and observers from Canada’s eleven chapters, national board and committee members along with two international observers attended this four day meeting that included a Gala with over 120 guests on November 12th. The meetings and Gala took place at Centre St Pierre in Montreal’s gay village while most travelling guests lodged at Hotel Labelle.

Outing Forêt Ouareau (19-20 March 2011)

CISV-Montreal offers this unique and invigorating opportunity for CISV families, members and friends to spend a weekend in a refuge located in Forêt Ouareau, a semi-wilderness park situated in Lanaudière approximately 1.5 hours north of Montreal off route 125 leading to Saint Donat.

The weekend provides participants a safe and guided semi-wilderness experience into one of the region’s most beautiful parks. The refuge is accessed either by snowshoe or cross-country skiing along well indicated and groomed trails. The refuge is located on Lac Pelletier and offers rustic amenities. It is heated by wood stove and is without electricity.
